Check In Time
We are required by law to register all guests with the local
authorities. This is a simple procedure. The Manager will
take care of the registration details.
Check In Time
Check in time is 2pm. However, if you will be arriving
earlier, that is OK if we don’t have people checking out the
same day. We will make all efforts to move you to your room
at your required time.
Check Out Time
We are fairly flexible concerning needing extra time in the
resort due to a later flight or boat trip. Normal check out
time is 11am. There is a late checkout fee. Please advise
how much time you will actually need to stay longer in your
room.
Night Entrance
The restaurant usually closes between 11pm & midnight. Once
the restaurant closes the night entrance is open which runs
down the side of the building. The night security is on duty
& if you have left your key with reception it will be
transferred to the key safety box with the security.
Breakfast
Your room rate includes breakfast. Please choose from the
breakfast selection menu. Breakfast finishes at midday.
AC
We need to preserve our power as much as possible. Power on
Gili Trawangan is not in abundance. When you are out for the
day please assist in switching off your AC. Actually, when
both bathroom door & the sliding door are open, a lovely
breeze sweeps through.
Smoking Policy
There is an ashtray provided on the table on your deck,
smoking inside the bedroom is not permitted.
WI FI
Scallywags has internet to rooms and Wi-Fi in the
restaurant. Please ask for the network key.
Massage
We have an in-house massage therapist who is on call. Ask a
staff member to book a massage, the charge is Rp150,000 per
hour & will be charged to your room payable on check out
Safety Box
Please read the instructions on top of the safety box for
opening & closing. It is a very good idea to use the safety
deposit boxes provided. Do not leave your valuables lying
around when you are not in your room. Lock away your
passports, travellers cheques, & valuables. Scallywags is a
safe haven, however we cannot be held responsible for the
loss of any items. Please leave the safe doors open when
departing so we can re-programme the entry numbers.
Hot Water
The hot water is solar powered. Please be aware that the hot
water is very hot therefore it is important to turn the
shower on to left for cold first & then slowly move it to
the right to introduce hot water for your desired
temperature.
Fresh Water
The resort has a desalination uni
t.
We have even installed a separate potable drinking water
service to your hand basins therefore you don’t have to use
bottled water for brushing your teeth & filling the kettle.
We are also producing our own crystal clear ice for your
drinks and fresh fish display.
Towels
In an effort to preserve the environment if you don’t
require your towels to be serviced place them on the towel
rail, if you’d like fresh towels leave the towel on the
floor.
Laundry
Scallywags have a laundry service, place the required items
in the black laundry bag provided & fill out the laundry
form. Housekeeping will take the laundry when they come to
clean your room.
TV
There are 13 English speaking TV channels for you to choose
from:
HBO, CINEMAX, STAR MOVIES, CNN, BBC WORLD, ALJEZEERA,
AUSTRALIAN NETWORK, STAR SPORTS, ESPN, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC,
DISCOVERY, NICKELODEON, MTV
DVD
We have an extensive DVD library. Ask you pool bartender to
show you the selection.
Tipping
The question is often asked, “should I tip and when?” If you
have enjoyed your stay with us and would like to leave a tip
for the staff we suggest that, instead of singling one or
two people out, leave your tip in an envelope for the
Manager to distribute evenly amongst all of the staff.
Trips
The island is quite small, it only takes 1 1/2hrs to walk
around or you can hire a bicycle which is a fun way to see
the island. There are many small tracks leading in to the
island to the village. Take one of these & see where it
leads you. Happy Cycling!
Take a boat over to Gili Meno or Gili Air. The snorkelling
over there is as good as here.
Restaurants
Scallywags is obviously the best place to eat but there are
others too! Up the road there is an Indian Restaurant –
Pesona, if you like Japanese then try Ryoshi. For great
tapas try Karma Kayak around the other side of the island.
The Terminal by the jetty serves excellent Mexican.
Scallywags Shop
Scallywag items such as the mugs, stubbie holders, beach
towels etc are for sale & can be bought at the pool bar
